Objectives

• To ensure the delivery of basic social services and provision of adequate facilities relative to social welfare and development services;

• To assist socially disadvantaged families and communities to develop capacities;

• To assist the local chief executive in implementing barangay level programs for the total development and protection of children up to 6 years of age;

• To promote the welfare of women giving special attention to the prevention and eradication of exploitation of women;

• To provide relief and appropriate crisis intervention for victims of abuse and exploitation and to recommend appropriate measures to deter further abuse and exploitation;

• To facilitate the implementation of welfare programs for person with disability, elderly, the prevention of juvenile delinquency, and such other activities which would eliminate or minimize ill-effects of poverty.
